Access to clean water is essential for the health and well-being of rural communities. In Chitemalesa, Rufunsa District, Lusaka Province, providing a well for clean water can significantly impact the lives of the people living there. Clean water can help prevent the spread of waterborne diseases and improve overall health.
It can also help farmers grow crops more efficiently and sustainably, leading to increased food security and economic growth. Additionally, access to clean water can help reduce the burden on women and children who often have to travel long distances to collect water.
By providing a well for clean water, we can help improve the quality of life for rural communities in Chitemalesa and promote sustainable development in the region.
The closest well (borehole) in the villages we are currently serving is 4 km away from most villagers. We will reduce that distance by 80%.
We are empowering the people of Rufunsa District with skills training in carpentry, metal fabrication, sewing, and bricklaying and jewelry making.
These skills will empower the residents to obtain better jobs or start a business to improve their family outlook and financial freedom from the cycle of poverty.
Farming God’s Way training is a program that teaches farmers how to apply biblical, management and technological principles to their agriculture. The training covers topics such as soil health, crop production, pest and disease control, conservation agriculture, and stewardship.
Utilizing the economic power of the entire village, Blessed Land Foundation helps establish Village Banking processes to help residents save for the future and build a solid economic base.
Starting with as little as 10kw (40 cents) folks can begin to save for the future each week and eventually qualify for a loan.
BLF has implemented a Women’s Empowerment Cooperative which has equipped 60 women with financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills. These women are not only empowered with knowledge but also provided with loans for business startup capital.
This support jump-starts their businesses, enabling them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and increase their income.
By utilizing the Village Bank in coordination with our empowerment projects, we emphasize the financial stewardship element of the moving out of poverty.
